“Winter” comes to an end in Almaty

A conference WINTER: Poetics and Politics that is the concluding conference organized within the framework of the Central Asian Pavilion at the 55th Venice Biennale is presently taking place in Almaty (Kazakhstan).

The Information on official web-site of the project says:

Conference will feature presentations and talks by artists, curators and writers from Central Asia and abroad, namely Vyacheslav Akhunov, Anna Basanova and Faruh Kuziev, Sergey Chutkov and Anton Rodin, Ruslan Getmanchuk, Erbol Meldibekov, Oxana Shatalova and Georgy Mamedov, Slavs and Tatars and Susanne M. Winterling. Following the curatorial premise of the project­ which employs winter as an image of socio-political stagnation in the region, the presentations will reflect on various aspects of the current artistic context of Central Asia.
