Bishkek celebrated it’s birthday on April, 29th. Our city is 131 year now.

IMHO, the celebration of the anniversary of Bishkek wasn’t expected by our citizens, despite of the attempts of the town-hall to advertise this event before.

According to the schedule of celebration, the fairy should start working since early morning at the old square. But there was nothing except alone scene and some tents for beer’s sale.

There wasn’t any feeling of holiday at that day: the workers were repairing fountains, fixing the marble blocks, cleaning streets. I felt like I confused the dates of the celebration and the birthday of Bishkek should be next day, not today.

Probably, the Bishkek day is the day when everybody thinks about it’s improvement? If so, the Bishkek day almos works out.

I wasn’t lucky to catch the ceremony of “zero kilometer”, because our mayor was moving too fast. He just gave his “blessing” to build “zero kilometer” and put a special “time capsule” where the “zero kilometer”will be built in one month.

Workers were going on to repair our famous fountain “38 cups”, I am not sure about the exact name of fountain, but was really great.

After visiting the beer festival our mayor left the park and the birthday of Bishkek was almost ended….
