World-known singer Craig David, who was re-qualified into DJ-s, visited Bishkek under the International Dance Festival I am Dancer 2013. British celebrity performed at the gala concert of the Festival on September 14. He also gave a press conference together with the organizers of the dance event.
Singer of the world song hits “7 days”, “Walking away” and “Rise and Fall”, Craig David, visited Kyrgyzstan for the first time under the International Dance Festival I am Dancer 2013, which is a project of the famous Kyrgyz dancer Atai Omurzakov. The grand event is taking place for the third time in our country, collecting dancers and celebrities from all over the world. Traditionally, there are two days of qualifying rounds before the final concert, where participants compete in various dance styles such as Break Dance, Popping, Hip-Hop and Show. And also the Festival includes professional master classes from foreign dance stars for young dancers.
Representatives of 20 countries participated in the Festival. Dancers prepare for the competition for months, because the winners get not only big cash prizes, but also the prestige and incentive for the further development.
“There has not ever been such a large-scale dance festival as this! This is a big breakthrough for Kyrgyzstan,” – shouted the audience at the gala concert. Just the fact that the organizers managed to invite here such a famous singer as Craig David speaks for itself. Not every day you can hear the song “7 days” live. At the press conference a British star said that he is very happy to visit our Asian country.
“When I was a child, I could not even imagine that one day I will visit Miami or New York, or even London, because I lived in a very small town in the UK. Now I live in Miami and I am travelling around the world. So today I am here in Bishkek. I would never have thought that I would be travelling so much,” – said Craig David.
After the press conference, the Festival organizers gifted national souvenirs to the foreign guest. Craig David also received a Kyrgyz national head-wear, Ak Kalpak, which suits him very well.
Especially for you I post the video from the concert, where Craig David has demonstrated not only his beautiful vocal skills, but also a DJ set, in which he mixed up famous song hits and made all the audience to dance and sing along with him.
