At the end of January, final concert of the Central Asian Youth Orchestra under the direction of Milanese composer, conductor and artistic director Gerardo Colella was held at the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic named after T. Satylganov.

The concert was part of the project “Strengthening of the musical culture in Central Asia through regional cooperation, integration and international networks.”

Children from 13 to 28 years old from three countries – Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan – were selected to the orchestra. Kyrgyzstan is represented by the young and talented musicians from the Republican Music School named after M. Abdraev, the Music College named after M. Kurenkeev and the Kyrgyz National Conservatory named after K. Moldobasanov.

The project started in 2012. From February to June 2013 the Youth Orchestra was on a tour in cities such as Astana, Karaganda, Almaty, Bishkek, Cholpon-Ata, Dushanbe, and in 7 cities of Italy and Belgium.
