Flashmob “Kyrgyz biy” in the center of Bishkek

Flashmob “Kyrgyz biy” dedicated to the Kyrgyz traditional dances was organized at the platform before the Kyrgyz State Historical Museum.

Bright dance event “Kyrgyz biy” was held on June 18, 2014 in the center of Bishkek city. Several dance ensembles took part in the event.

Initiator of the flashmob is the ​​Minister of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic Kamila Talieva. And the organizer is the National Cultural Center at the Ministry of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic, ensembles “Shattyk”, “Min kyyal”, “Jash kyyal” and others. The purpose of the event is to draw public attention to the traditional Kyrgyz dances.

Much attention was paid to the Kyrgyz dance called “Kara jorgo” which is very popular nowadays in the country.

“Kara jorgo” translated from Kyrgyz language means “black horse”. The popularity of dance is explained by the way it need to be danced: very fervently and joyfully. Dance embodies the spirit of the nomadic people, appreciating and loving horse as a runner and racer.
