History of the Kyrgyz language and writing

The book “History of the Kyrgyz language and writing” by Kyrgyz author Gulzhamal Zhamankulova was published in Bishkek.

Two-volume book was presented at the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic. It tells the history of the Kyrgyz people and their writings from ancient times to the 10th century. The book examines history of the Kyrgyz people of Altai and Turkish periods. There are 500 copies of each volume.

“In my work, there is not just a history of the Kyrgyz people in Kyrgyzstan, but a history of the Kyrgyz nation in general. For example, there are historical observation of the Yenisei, the Tien Shan Kyrgyz and their relationship. I examined a lot of opinions and then offered my own view of this. I compare Kyrgyz history from the very beginning to the history of nomads”, – Zhamankulova says.

President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic Abdygany Erkebaev noted that the book describes the whole chronology of the Kyrgyz people and their writing. Besides, he added that the book combines a scientific approach with accessible language of presentation, which is very important for readers.
