Translation of mursya’s post (RUS).There’s a reason the picturesque gorge near Almaty attracts tourists at all times of the year. It is an ideal place for paragliding, bicycling, hiking, as well as simply admiring the stunning landscapes. Let’s take a look!

We have rasulio to thank for a wonderful set of photographs that he has chosen to share with our readers.

He writes: “I recently drove to the Ushkonyr plateau, one of the most beautiful places in Kazakhstan. It snowed, so everything around us looked like a winter fairytale.”

Our final destination is the lake.

If you’re ever in these parts, don’t miss out.

Would someone who has been to this plateau be willing to comment on my Tourism page? Where is it? How do you get there? What kind of facilities are there? What should a tourist know before going there? Trying to build up concrete info for people wanting to see nice places in Kazakhstan. Or if someone wants to do a guest post, that would be cool too.
