Kyrgyz citizens at the World Culinary Congress in Romania
Chefs from Kyrgyzstan took part in the World Congress of Culinary Traditions that was held in Bucharest (Romania) in mid-March 2014.
Large-scale culinary event was organized by the Romanian National Authority for Tourism, Cultural Association Euro East Alternative, and World Association of Chefs Societies.
Chefs from more than 30 countries, including USA, Mexico, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Central Asian countries and many others took part in the Congress.
At this prestigious event Kyrgyzstan was presented by the members of Chef Craft Union of the Kyrgyz Republic – Oleg Kuvshinov, Andrei Burenko and a manager Regina Smanova.
According to Regina Smanova, the program of the World Culinary Congress included the reading of dissertations, where participants were need to present their country and to talk about its culture, traditions and cuisine. After that they presented dishes of the national cuisine. Participants from Kyrgyzstan prepared beshbarmak, chuchuk, boorsoks and kattama.
Based on all the information presented at the World Culinary Congress organizers of the event are planning to publish the Encyclopedia of World Culinary Traditions. The book will be issued in Luxembourg.
