Translation of Juldyz’s post

The band from Almaty called “Guarova Kamed” [Guar Gum] performed on the prestigious international rock-fest “Open Windows” in St.-Petersburg on June 27. The guys have become the first Kazakhstani band on this festival. Interestingly, if there were no such an opportunity, the band would have dissolved this summer.

Although these days rock-music in Almaty is getting back on stages of several night clubs, it is still not quite popular:

“The rock-musicians are entrapped in Almaty, since it is not the rock city. We decided not to wait in vain for something to happen.” rock-band members say.

The musicians were lucky to make an impression on the festival screening board and got into the final of the competition program. Though, contrary to their expectations, their performance was included into the acoustic section. So, the band had to re-arrange their songs for unplugged versions urgently. According to the musicians, the audience was warmly welcoming them.

So, the band has got the second breathe now and is bent on making its sound better. It also plans to release its first studio album and to continue co-operation with producers from Russia.
