Stars of the Silk Road

Grand opening of the first International Festival of Arts Stars of the Silk Road was held on the 9th of September in the capital of Kyrgyzstan. Festival, which includes a unique concert program, will run from the 9th to 14th of September in Bishkek.

The Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bishkek Mayor’s Office, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, and the Lions-Club are the organizers of this cultural event. Grand opening of the Kyrgyz-German Festival was held on Monday, the 9th of September. Performance of the Presidential Chamber Orchestra Manas was held in the National Philharmonic named after T. Satylganov. Bishkek orchestra’s musicians showed higher musical skills together with the soloists – winners of various international competitions from Germany and Kyrgyzstan.

Motto of the Festival says: “Follow your dream”, and it clearly and accurately reflects the purpose of the event. According to the organizers of the Stars of the Silk Road Festival, a relentless pursuit of the dream, in spite of the difficulties and confusions in life, helps a person to achieve the desired goal. Main emphasis of the Festival is made ​​to the cultural development of the country’s youth. Musicians, painters, photographers and other “people of Arts” have the opportunity to meet with their talented peers from Germany, to learn something new and useful from the guests, and at the same time to share their own knowledge with them.

September, 10 the National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiyev will host an exhibition of young photographers from Kyrgyzstan and Germany.

September, 11 a concert of the international competition’s winner, the Grand Symphony Orchestra of the Bishkek Mayor Office, will be held at the Kyrgyz National Conservatory.

A guest from the Federal Republic of Germany, Udo Herrmann, will hold a workshop Building the Future together for the young artists. Event will be held at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Bishkek.
