Well, i'm agree too, that we can see a lot of "copy-paste" style art in this works. But, please, don't think, that this art is commercial. It's most uncommercial art in whole Uzbekistan. I know Barkovskiy close, and maybe he is poorest man that i know. Oldschool-artist without money, work, nice home and other stuff.

Hi Sanjar,

I see what you mean, it makes sense. But I don't agree with the artist, who is simply copying from what he saw in Europe/USA. But I understand this is commercial art that sells well, also in Uzbekistan, and artists need to make a living too.

Well, Steven. I'm agree with your opinion. But in Uzbekistan even pop-art is revolutionary style of art. Still like in 1960-s.
If you will take a look on what 90% of Uzbek artist draws (especially all members of government Union of artist) - you will see, that they are still close-minded in best traditions of socialistic realism.
So, for Uzbekistan this exhibition is fresh. For the Europe or USA - just repetition of the past, there is nothing to say.

Seriously, how long will some (actually quite a few) modern artists keep making the same piece of "art" over and over again? Pop culture references in a new frame, wow, I am dazzled.
