On November 14-15, Almaty hosted a seminar for journalists and bloggers: EduCamp Almaty 2009: New Media Weekend.

For two days, prominent journalists, editors, PR managers and bloggers talked about how modern professionals could use New Media and the Internet to develop their work.

Among the presentations was the WageIndicator fund. Inessa Shlapak, web editor of Mojazarplata.kz (“My Salary”), discussed how New Media enables journalists to organize projects on an international scale.

The seminar was free to attend and admission was open. It was organized by the Central Asian citizen media portal, Neweurasia.net, at Kazakhstan’s Institute for Management, Economics and Entrepreneurship.
