Dear Alpharabius,

I am very happy that this time our corrupt government wont shut everyone up. I am happy to see that there are people who are using these types of media ways to make sure our freedoms are kept and our democracy cleaned. I thought for many years that our government after seeing war and its peoples blood shed for nothing would realizing that it is time to take the right steps. Isnt it enought that we are already in so much trouble why cant we just make things right. THank you for the support for freedom for our people.

It seems quite clear that the government is corrupt and finally the this corruption is being brought out in public through the independent media. This will be a struggle and a hard road however if we live in lies whats the point of living. The Tajik people starve on a daily basis, have no electricity and due to global recession their conditions are getting worse. I think this is a very similar case to what has happened to Bernie Meidof. If there was no recession he probably would have kept going with stealing people's money just like the corrupt government of Tajikistan will keep going stealing money from the people. People have the right to know what happened to all that aide money from UN, World Bank and IMF. I salute the independent journalists and newspapers for finally making a stand for the Tajik people. Keep fighting. Thank you for the post very exciting material.

Like most public sectors in the country, Tajikistan's legal system is corrupt. The judges, who are also the complainants in this case, care only for their own power and hegemony. The press in Central Asia, including Tajikistan, is not free and it seems clear that, if this goes to trial, the government will not permit the editors to win any case over its own judges, because this will create a precedent in overturning accepted prejudices and realities inn the region.
