It is the second day since the clashes of ethnic nature between Uzbek and Kyrgyz in Osh city of southern Kyrgyzstan sparked. Ministry of Health update by 20:58 of June 12, 2010 reads that there are “945 injured, out of which 69 – dead, 532 were hospitalized and 444 received ambulatory medical assistance”. Unofficial information indicates that number of victims significantly exceed given numbers. Visual information from Osh is very scarce at this point. Here are some photos taken from various web sources.

Troops are patroling the city. Many complained that they were not doing much during the events.

"Please don't touch this. It belongs to a Kyrgyz" reads another sign.

"Osh looks like Chechnya in 1993-1995" commented a user from the popular forum diesel.elcat.kg - one of the main sources of information for thousands in Bishkek.

The writing on the car reads "Kyrgyz".

Thousands of ethnic uzbeks fled to the border with Uzbekistan, hoping to enter the neighboring country.

While officially Uzbek-Kyrgyz border is closed, one of the border points near Osh was opened as a corridor for fleeing people.

Lootings - one of the most popular words spoken during the April events in Bishkek. Unfortunately, it has come up again in Osh.

Inability of the provisional government to use "state monopoly on violence" led to usage of violence by other groups.

Labeling a property with ethnic origin of an owner has become a means of protection as well as provocation. Writings on two shops side by side read "sart" (derogatory term used for uzbeks) and "kyrgyz".
