67 USD worthy heroism…

While preparing to celebrate 2200-anniversary of Tashkent our President decreed to reward veterans of WWII beforehand. Everything would be fine if not a childish amount of the reward:
1. Determine one-time money reward to the participants and invalids of WWII with amount of 120,000.00 (One hundred twenty thousand) Soums.
From “President decree on rewarding veterans”
Just to remind: by official exchange rate it is equivalent to 83 USD, and by “black” market’s rate it is 67 USD.
As President’s Press-service informs, the Ministry of finance, the Central bank, the Ministry of labor and social protection, the Ministry of interior and the National security service have been entrusted with organizing the solemn rewarding ceremonies.

was the reward higher previous years? even it was in today’s economic crisis this is quite understandable, isn’t it?
but let’s face it 120.000.00 sum is not so much as it seems …

last year reward was 80 000 sums. so, nothing with crisis. at least because Karimov always says that crisis did’t get Uzbekistan – we haven’t even felt its “cold”….

how u’d explain that??
or how u’d response to the level of rewards in Russia – in 2008 President awarded each veteran with an average of 4000 USD worth or cash instead? or what about one of the first decrees of Medvedev last year after inauguration to provide veterans with deserving living conditions, including houses to each of them?
