New branches — increased efficiency?

Ponauz.com web site, which is considered as platform of the ERK oppositional party’s online activities, intensively reports on People’s Movement of Uzbekistan — PMU’s new branches established in Norway, Canada and Sweden.
According to PMU’s press release released soon after the first session of the founders of the PMU in Stockholm, one of the goals of the movement is to increase the number of branches and activists inside and outside of Uzbekistan.
Considering that one of the oppositional movements that called upon a non-violent rally to start on July 1, 2011, had already renounced an ambitious plan of ousting President Karimov as the illegitimate leader of the country, PMU decided to target those who are under way less control of the Uzbek security services — expats.
On one hand it’s a wise decision to popularize the movement and its goals. But then what’s the point to mobilize those who are not able to even pass the word to the people of Uzbekistan on whatever is planned? We have bunch of examples of these kind of movements and parties residing abroad and not being able to somehow influence any processes in Uzbekistan. Forget about political process — no one from abroad can influence on even social or economic ones.
I’m dissapointed. So are you?

if you are talking about dissapointment with actions they do, them i’m not adissapointed at all — this is what they are intended to do. on the other hand if the dissapointment is caused by seing them acting like kids without doing anything real IN the country — then i second you. sad but really true.
