Acting Head of Public Service to combat drug Serdar Batyrov reported the fact of identifying a group of persons engaged in the illicit distribution of narcotic drugs, Tred.Az reports with a reference to the state news service of Turkmen Dovlet habarlary (TDH) reported.
As a result of investigative work resident of Dashoguz Rahatay Razzakov and her closest relatives have been arrested. Since 2004 they have brought in large quantities of heroin to Turkmenistan. A range of apartments, shops, cars and etc were acquired in Dashoguz and Ashgabat from illicit drug trafficking.
“Heroine, a large sum of money, gold and brilliant ornaments, as well as cars and lorries, apartments, houses, shops including beauty saloons were revealed,” TDH reported.
This message was discussed at the last meeting of the Cabinet. “Despite our actions, evil, represents a huge danger to society, far from being eradicated,” President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov said. In that context, he pointed to the importance of increasing joint efforts in combating the proliferation and use of drugs.
“We must fully understand the threat and consolidated with the entire international community,” continued the Turkmen leader, stressing that “this very important task should be done only together”.
The president noted the need for broad preventive measures, which in addition to law enforcement agencies should be actively involved community-based organizations, health, education and local authorities, who should pay specific attention to regular education and prevention activities, especially with young people and high-risk groups.
