Translation of the Adam’s post.

In Kazakhstan, local civil activists together with their coleagues from other CIS countries have established the International Committee for Observation of Law in the Prosecution of Evgeny Zhovtis, prominent Kazkahstani human rights activist, accused of unintended murder in result of the traffic accident. The non-formal public organization is aspiring to ensure transparency and legitimacy of investigation and trial, their compliance with national and international norms.

The Committee marks out attempts of manipulation with public opinion and of imposing pressure on the investigation. It also urges the law enforcement bodies to ensure maximum impartiality and absence of bias at investigation of this case, and calls on the court to provide the highest possible thoroughness and fairness at the trial.

All documents and case materials, as well as the information sheet on the case can be found in both Russian and English here. Besides, if you want to support the campaign on observation of law in the case of E. Zhovtis, you can sign the online petition in Russian or English language.
