One of my sisters got infected with H1N1 or more commonly known as Swine Flu. Fortunately, she did not have very high fever and she was able to recover fast. :-D

I was hoping for some useful advise like whether to give children Tamiflu or if the vaccine will be available to the general public.

What a load of nonsense - if rubbing garlic and onions on your nose really stopped flu at once there would be no epidemic. And as for catching the flu from wearing light clothing and no hat - it might cause hyperthermia but as the flu is caused by a virus, you have to actually come in contact with the virus to get infected.

More sensible advise would be to wash your hands or use hand-wipes - especially after coughing or sneezing - to prevent the spread of the virus. Stop greeting people with kisses, don't let children share their utensils or drink from the same cup and always sneeze into a tissue.

I sincerely hope that the advise given by Bakharom is not being endorsed by the medical proffession - no hope for Kyrgyzstan if it is!

I am more than a little disappointed by this article. Thanks to Dr. Bakhrom for spreading fear of the Swine Flu to neweurasia and offering such helpful advice as putting onion juice in your nose and which topical ointments to use to stop its advance. And since when does not wearing a hat cause the flu?

This piece is a farce.
