Turkmenistan Ups Control Over А/Н1N1 Prevention

Tukmen president Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov has ordered to intensify control over А/Н1N1 prevention. Country’s sanitary and epidemiologic agency possesses every means to do it, state media reported.
Berdimuhammedov stressed importance of cooperation with international organization including World Health Organization.
At the last government meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Khydyrkuli Saparliyev reported on the work of the emergency committee to combat spread of dangerous diseases. He said whole complex of preventive measures are taken in Turkmenistan to prevent the dangerous infection to reach the country.
In spring Turkmenistan installed thermo-scanner at the entrance to the country in airports in Ashgabat and Turkmenbashi to remotely determine the temperature of each of the arriving passengers.
A new strain of influenza A/H1N1 is a highly infectious acute respiratory disease caused by one of several porcine viruses, influenza A. The virus spreads through airborne droplets, direct and indirect contact with patients and carriers of disease.
